Today I’m thrilled to share with you a personal branding photoshoot I did in Hackney with the lovely Elizabeth, founder of Hues Clothing.
Hailing from the US but now living with her family in the heart of East London, Elizabeth first dreamed up the idea of Hues when her children were just toddlers. She wanted fun, bright-coloured clothes for her kids and, not finding what she wanted already on the market, decided to create her own. Thus, Hues was born!
The clothes are designed with comfort in mind, using sensory-friendly fabrics that let children play and adventure freely. I also really love the ethos behind this company. Hues sources organic and recycled cotton fabrics and work with a small UK manufacturer to produce the clothing. Styles remain consistent from year to year, allowing children to mix and match, enjoying their clothes for more than one season and reducing the excess inventory and waste that often plague fashion brands.
A Beautiful House in Hackney for Our Branding Photoshoot
During our pre-shoot clarity call, Elizabeth and I discussed potential locations for the session. She mentioned a friend’s house nearby that might be perfect, and indeed it was! Skillfully decorated with an amazing array of artwork, it gave a wonderful backdrop for our photos.
As a personal branding photographer in London, I understand the importance of capturing images that truly reflect your brand’s essence. Elizabeth wanted images featuring her products for marketing purposes, as well as some personal branding images to update her socials and website. We had planned to take some outdoor shots to add variety, taking advantage of the textured streets of East London, but in typical UK fashion the weather wasn’t playing ball. Instead of venturing out into the rain, we decided to stick to exploring the many beautiful settings within the house.
Like many women I photograph, Elizabeth wasn’t super keen on the idea of having her photo taken. But as you can see, she looks absolutely stunning in these images! And in fact, she was pretty pleased with them herself!
“I normally hate photos of myself, but the photos from my branding shoot with Nicole are the first photos I have truly liked in many years. She made me feel comfortable and at ease and it really shines through.”
