At the start of every September our social media feeds are flooded with photos of our friends’ children looking spick and span in their very clean and new school uniform.
If your son or daughter is starting school in Reception this year then I’m sure you’ll want to be capturing some similar snaps.
But how about for this very special event, you bring in a professional? This is where I come in.

WHY SHOULD YOU GET ME TO TAKE YOUR PHOTOS?
On the first morning of school, emotions will be running high. My own experience has taught me that more often than not, it’s the parents who are more worried about the day than the children – my own son was literally running down the road into school while I trailed behind trying to keep the tears at bay.
The last thing you want to be thinking of is whether you’ve nailed that shot of your child standing at your front door before you left.
Now let me tell you about the benefits of hiring me to record these precious moments for you.
If you’re taking the photos, you can’t be in them! It’s so nice to be able to get the whole family captured together, and these days quite rare. Your child only starts school for the first time once. Let me get you ALL in the frame, so one day, when they’re graduating from university, you can pull these photos back out and marvel at how your children could ever have been this small.
It relieves the pressure on the first morning of school. Yes you can still get a few quick snaps on your iPhone, but you’ll be safe in the knowledge that these memories have already been bottled up for you forever.
More than likely you’d be taking your photos on your mobile. Mobile photography has vastly improved throughout the years, but you’d still struggle to get quality comparable to the kit a professional photographer uses. But why does it matter? It means that not only can you share these on social media, you’d be able to print for your wall with great results. No pixellated images here!
HOW IT WORKS
You’ll select your preferred date using the contact form below, and once applications have closed, I can confirm dates and times for everyone. Once the session fee is paid, you’re all booked in!
Before I arrive at your house on the day of the session, you’ll get your child (and any siblings if relevant) dressed in their school uniform – think of it as a practice for the first day!
You’ll have a 10-15 minute photoshoot outside your home, where we’ll capture some precious memories for you to cherish. I’ll then go away and hand-edit your photos.
When your images are ready, you’ll be sent a link to a private online gallery, and from there you can choose your favourites!
The Dates
As I can’t logistically be at everyone’s homes on the first day of school, I’ve set aside 2 days to come to your homes for these sessions prior to the start of the new school year. You are able to choose the date that best suits you on the contact form below, but please note this is a preference and the date is not guaranteed until I confirm via email.
HOW MUCH DOES A STARTING SCHOOL SESSION COST?
Simple answer – much less than you think!
I’m passionate about capturing the little moments and getting the whole family in the frame. This is why I’ve decided to offer these at a hugely discounted rate to my usual mini sessions, so that as many families can access them as possible, and look back on these memories for years to come.

* 2 x high-resolution digital downloads of your choice (with the option to purchase more and/or prints)

MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi, I’m Nicole and I spend my time bottling up the memories of families and creating beautiful art to be enjoyed on the walls of your home every day.
I specialise in newborns, maternity and young families, with a natural and relaxed vibe. I love to work with my clients either in the great outdoors – in the countryside or on the beach are my faves – or in your own home, capturing that little slice of life as it is in this moment.
When I’m not entertaining other people’s children, I’m being run ragged by my own two, or looking after my menagerie of pets (one dog, three cats and some fish currently!). When I’m chilling, you’ll usually find me curled up on the sofa in front of a police crime drama with a bowl of Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food – if not the tub!
